At the harbour (known as The Platt), local fishermen land their catch as they have done for centuries. You can, if you wish, meet the boats as they come in from the sea and buy fresh crab, lobster and mackeral, depending on what the catch has been. Port Isaac and neighbouring Port Gaverne are popular for swimming. For surfing, nearby Polzeath offers a magnificent stretch of golden sands.
