Downderry is a popular Cornish seaside village enjoying breathtaking unspoilt coastline & countryside. Good local day-to-day facilities are in abundance at Downderry with a general store, Post Office, traditional inn with lovely sea views and The Rosery Restaurant. For those who enjoy walking, the famous coastal paths provide plenty of opportunities with nearby Seaton, Looe, Whitsand Bay, The Rame Peninsula and a little further afield to the charming 13th Century harbour at Polperro. The cliffside paths that run along Downderry afford outstanding views from Rame Head in the East right over to Looe in the West. You'll also discover the stunning wooded walk through the valley to Hessenford just a mile away. Downderry Beach is a MCS (Marine Conservation Society) recommended Beach in Cornwall. Beach activities include swimming, sea canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. At Seaton ammenities around the beach include a Bistro, Beach Shop, Cafe & Takeaway (Open all Year), Smugglers Inn & Restaurant, Public Park & Woodland Walks. There are magnificent Coastpath Walks to the right and left of Seaton, Cornwall. Walk along the Coastpath to your right and your arrive Looe, Cornwall. Looe is a historic fishing port with quaint streets, a harbour, sandy beach, shops, restaurants, hidden coves and its own island. Nearby is Polperro, which is a picturesque Cornish fishing village with traditional white painted cottages overlooking the harbour, famed for its history of smuggling & fishing. Walk along the coastpath to your left & you'll discover the unspoilt seaside villages & beaches at Downderry, Whitsand Bay, Rame Head, Cawsand and Kingsand.
