Mevagissey is a small, unspoilt traditional Cornish fishing village with a rich history of boat building and smuggling. Mevagissey still affords a traditional charm, yet now offers holidaymakers a wide variety harbourside pubs, restaurants & interesting shops. Mevagissey is a popular holiday destination with easy access to the Cornish Riviera and nearby tourist attractions including The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Portmellon Cove is just around the headland from the intriguing Mevagissey which is still very much a working fishing village and offers many deep-sea angling and shark fishing trips from the quay. There are also popular mackerel fishing trips, which offer the opportunity to see other parts of the coast. During the summer, a regular ferry runs to Fowey and back. The village is home to an array of collectors and gift shops, which you can browse around. Mevagissey is also alive at night during the summer with many excellent restaurants and traditional pubs. Also of interest are the Aquarium, Museum and Model Railway and the Old Pilchard Cellars.
