The mines have long since closed, but the character of the Cape Cornwall area is still evident in the granite buildings in St Just. The town revolves around a busy market square with the dominating splendour of the Parish Church and Methodist Chapel. The town has five pubs, varied shops, restaurants, cafes, fish & chip shop & takeaways. It is 3 quarters of a miles' walk from St Just to the nearest pebble beach with Sennen Cove a short drive away.
