Falmouth is developing into a international centre for watersports and sailing and has lots to offer. There is an array of interesting buildings and gardens in Falmouth. Plenty of things to do on holiday, leisure pools, entertainment. There are pleasure boat trips and ferrys in the estuary, visit Custom House Quay and the Prince of Wales Pier for boat trips. Falmouth's town centre has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Whilst the golden sand and rolling surf is nearby, the beaches of Maenporth and the beautiful Helford Passage are just a short drive from the town and offer a variety of fine sand, shingle and rock pools. The famous 'all year' Falmouth climate is one of the warmest in the British Isles and therefore the area has an abundance of exotic shrubs, trees and plants. Much of Cornwall is within easy reach of Falmouth and is 60 mins (or less) travel time by car. E.g. Lands End, Newquay, Perranporth, the Lizard, Minack, Padstow, Truro, St Ives, Penzance & St Michael's Mount. The finest gardens are also within easy reach like Heligan & The Eden Project.
