The Cottage - Downderry nr Looe, Cornwall

The Cottage is a 360 year old cottage and was the first house built in the village of Downderry, South East Cornwall. Originally it was built as two houses and the main entrance was used to bring the donkeys through to the stables at the rear of the property.

The Cottage was once owned by the Plymouth Gin Distillery. It has since been converted into a single dwelling and over the last 10 years has been lovingly restored with all the original features including granite open fireplace, slate flooring and exposed beams being brought back to their former glory.

The Cottage is a luxury holiday cottage and has been photographed for use on numerous greeting cards and postcards. It is featured in the Pictorial View of Downderry history book and has won Downderry in bloom twice. The Cottage features an outside terrace with BBQ area making alfresco dining easy and pleasurable.

Local Amenities and Attractions - The Cottage is situated in the centre of Downderry and has the benefit of being on the flat allowing easy access to all facilities for all ages. Due to it's unique location it allows visitors to experience the friendliness of Downderry and it's residents The Cottage is within easy walking distance of all local amenities :- 200m to the Beach - 100m to the Post office and the local shop - 200m to the local Pub ( Inn on the Shore) - 200m to the Rosery Restaurant & Bistro 150m to the Doctors/Café & Takeaway. The village of Seaton is ½ mile walk / drive away and offers many of the above amenities as well as beautiful country park walks / cycling paths.

ACCOMMODATION

The Cottage is let from Friday to Fiday and sleeps 6 guests, keys are made available from 3.30pm onwards on the first day of your holiday and the property is to be vacated by 10.30am on the last day of your holiday. (Shorter breaks are available out of main season, subject to availability).

Kitchen - The kitchen has a range of fitted units. There is an oven, fridge/ice box, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and an ample supply of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans.

Cloakroom - Freezer, Washing Machine, WC.

Lounge - Feature fireplace (working), beamed ceiling, television, cd / dvd, leather sofas and arm chair, coffee table, book case, occasional table and slate floor with rug.

Dining Room - Dining table with 6 chairs, sideboard,drinks cabinet, cupboard, high chair and slate floor with rug.

Master Bedroom - Master has a double bed and has ensuite shower/basin (*no W/C). Bedside table, 14" TV, Chest of Drawers, Dressing Table, Wardrobe and Mirror. Bed linen and towels are provided and included in the rental tariff.

First Twin Bedroom - Twin Beds, Bedside Table, Bedside Lamps, Wardobe and 14" Television. Bed linen and towels are provided and included in the rental tariff.

Second Twin Bedroom - Twin Beds, Bedside Table, Bedside Lamps, Wardobe and Cot
. Bed linen and towels are provided and included in the rental tariff.

Bathroom - Matching bathroom suite. Bath, shower, wash basin and w/c.

Conservatory with table and chairs.

Courtyard - The Cottage features an outside terrace with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ area making alfresco dining easy and pleasurable.


Parking - There is a garage opposite for guests' use while staying at the Cottage.

Pets are not accepted.

Bed linen & Towels are provided and included in the rental tariff.


Electricity is included in the rental tariff. Cot and High Chair available free of charge.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED UPON BOOKING : £250 per week booked (The outstanding balance of rental will be due 28 days before the start of your holiday).
