Your Skipper is Harvey John - a well respected man in the area and is the new skipper of Aquila. Harvey has been fishing off many of the marks off the Cornish South Coast for years. Harvey's experience of the waters off Cornwall spans over 5 years as a pleasure angler. He has owned boats most of this time both on his own and with his friends, also keen fishermen. Harvey says that "I promise that you and your friends will have a great day out with us. We will work as hard as we can to meet all your angling needs, we can't guarantee you will catch the biggest fish of the day nor fill the boat up, but I do promise both myself and my crew will work hard for you and your friends, ensuring both enjoyment on your day out on and maximize your chance of catching the fish of a lifetime". We would recommend that you bring all your own equipment as you might have different tackle and ideas than us. However Aquila is a well equipped with tackle and rod hire facility. All rods and reels are in good condition.

Mevagissey, means "Meva and Issey". The town of St Meva and St Issey. About 5 Miles outside St Austell. Mevagissey was first recorded as a hamlet in the early years of the thirteenth century. There were settlements in this area long before that as was shown by the uncovering of two Bronze Age Burial Urns at Portmellon. Mevagissey's labyrinth of narrow streets that twist and turn past the ancient dwellings of cob and slate down to the twin harbours which are the nerve-centre of the village. The pier is a perfect  place to watch the fishermen land their catch and mend their nets as they have for hundreds of years. The inner harbour dates back to 1774, and the outer harbour to 1888. However in March 1891 the outer harbour walls were washed away in the one of the heaviest storms that Mevagissey had ever seen. They were rebuilt and completed in 1897. The still working harbour has an unbroken history of fishing that you can be a part of, we are always happy to take our visitors angling or out on pleasure trips. You can enjoy an adventure  around one of the most productive and varied fishing grounds  the UK coastlines.
